Policy and Disclaimer

Happy Gentle Homestead is a personal blog written, designed, and edited by me: Julie Cazier. I blog for fun and to encourage like-minded ladies. This blog contains snippets of my ordinary life and I pray that everything I post glorifies the Lord. I am not an expert or professional of any kind, I am simply sharing my personal thoughts, opinions, and experiences as a wife, mama, homemaker, and homesteader.

I always do my best to publish reliable content, but I am quite imperfect and make no guarantee as to the accuracy or usefulness of my blog. What works for us on our homestead may or may not work for you. My thoughts are presented "as is" and with no warranty. Please do your own research, consult appropriate experts and/or professionals when necessary, and always use appropriate supervision and/or safety measures if you choose to apply anything found on my blog to your own situation.

Use of this site is entirely at your own risk, as neither I nor anyone in my family will be liable or responsible in any way for any loss, damage, injury, or other consequence you may experience from any use of this blog. Anyone who reads or uses this blog's content agrees to hold me (Julie - the blog owner and author) and my family harmless for any outcome of its use.

Blogs can be read anywhere... I am blogging from our simple Montana homestead... I cannot possibly know the laws and standards for where you are and disclaim any responsibility for that. I am also not responsible for how my blog is interpreted or how my content may be used on other blogs and websites.

Nothing on my blog is meant to harm, defame, offend, humiliate, or slander anyone. I believe in kindness. The content of this blog is not meant to endorse or represent any other person, website, group, product, or organization.

Though my blog is about our big family's simple life, I do not share my younger children's names or faces in my posts as we wish to protect their privacy. I do not intend to share any private or personal information entrusted to me by anyone that I know without their approval and consent.

This blog is not monetized and does not contain paid advertisements, sponsored content, or affiliate links. I blog for fun, not for profit... it is a lovely hobby, I think. Any mention I make of a brand or product or any specific item or business is given for informational purposes only. I have no sponsors or affiliates. Please do your own research before purchasing any item I may recommend, mention, or discuss.

My blogs are Happy Gentle Homestead and Run Hoop Julie and Images of a Happy Gentle Life. I think of my blogs as one big blog in three parts and I link between the three of them regularly and often. Any link to any other blog or website is informational and does not imply endorsement of or agreement with that blog or site. My links do not generate income or any other type of benefit for this blog.

I am not responsible for the content of any site on the Internet other than my own - whether I link to them or they link to this blog - nor am I responsible for or aware of any of their privacy practices or other policies. Please remember that sites can change over time and may be different than when I posted an outgoing link. I would never intentionally link to something inappropriate. You assume full responsibility if you follow the links that I post.

The photographs on my blog are my own - taken by me or someone in my family. Please do not download my images or reuse them in any way.

Exceptions: you may pin my photos with a link to my original blog post, or use a photo if you wish to feature my blog in some kind and friendly way on your own blog or website.

My cameras are a Nikon Coolpix L810 and the simple camera on my phone. I use PicMonkey to edit and add text to my images, and to create my blog's graphics. The verses on my word pictures are from the World English Bible, which is in the Public Domain. The name "World English Bible" is trademarked.

My recipes are my own creations and adaptations (or are tweaked versions of common recipes) and adhere to our personal food preferences and my own family's budget, values, and needs. They are tested in my kitchen with my appliances and written accordingly. I apologize if there are errors or omissions, but I disclaim any and all responsibility for your results.

We do not have any food allergies or sensitivities. Please adjust my recipes as necessary for your unique situation.

Cooking and food preparation are potentially dangerous activities, always be careful. You are responsible for taking all safety precautions necessary and I disclaim all liability for any adverse reactions, effects, damages, or causes from the use of my recipes. I do not include nutrition information or exact serving sizes as those things are quite variable, I think.

Crafting and Tutorials:
Knitting needles, crochet hooks, sewing machines, scissors, essential oils, cleaning supplies, and so on... are potentially dangerous. Please use common sense and appropriate safety measures when using my crafting and other tutorials as I am not responsible for any harm or damages from the use of my blog tutorials. Do-It-Yourself at your own risk.

I am not a doctor, medical professional, therapist, personal trainer, nutritionist, or fitness expert. I choose to personally live an active and body positive lifestyle and I enjoy sharing bits of that journey as an encouragement only. My success, failures, opinions, goals, and methods are not to be taken as medical or nutritional advice - simply as information and entertainment.

I am confident in my ability to perform the fitness challenges, achieve the mileage goals, and practice the yoga asanas, etcetera, mentioned and featured on this blog. I share these things for entertainment, information, and encouragement only, and I do not wish to set a standard or goals for anyone else. I disclaim all responsibility and liability for any adverse effect, reaction, damage, injury, or cause from the use of my fitness routines and dietary choices by any other person. This blog does not represent the entirety of my diet, fitness goals and routines, ed recovery, or lifestyle.

Statements on this site have not been evaluated or approved by the Food and Drug Administration or any other experts and are not a substitute for professional medical advice, expertise, counsel, or treatment. The reader assumes full responsibility for consulting appropriate health professionals with health concerns, and before starting a new diet, health program, exercise, or fitness routine.

Reading and Watching and Listening:
Our family chooses to watch and enjoy television shows and movies with careful discernment according to our own values and interests. It is fun for me to list and/or discuss books that I read and things that I watch and listen to, and some of the things that our family reads and watches together. Such information is not meant as an endorsement or recommendation, and a specific mention does not necessarily mean that I agree with any or all of the content of a particular book, movie, television show, sermon, etc.

Entertainment tastes and convictions are quite personal and ever-changing, you are solely responsible to research the subject and content advisories of books, movies, plays, music, television shows, and all other such things that I mention in a post or list, to determine whether they are appropriate for you and anyone you may share them with. You assume all risk and responsibility for your own reading, watching, and listening choices that are influenced by my content.

I am not a veterinarian nor do I have any expert knowledge about animal care. I have many years of homesteading experience that I enjoy sharing, but this blog simply contains our methods and my opinions. You are solely responsible for the care and health of your animals, and for seeking appropriate veterinary expertise when necessary.

My money saving tips and methods and frugality are not to be taken as financial advice or counsel. They are simply my own thrifty ways and should be considered information and entertainment only.

My blogs do not have comments. I made this decision prayerfully and with my dear hubby's counsel. I do not have time to moderate or reply to readers' comments and while I agree that comments can add a wonderful dimension to a site and allow space for lovely conversations, I prefer to simply present my thoughts to you quietly... without having to consider receiving praise that may puff up or criticism that may tear down, or links to sites I am not familiar with.

Advertising and such:
I do not host giveaways, accept items for review, write sponsored posts, include advertising, or accept any other type of compensation for my content. I do not include guest posts here, nor do I have the time or interest to guest post elsewhere... my own three blogs keep me busy enough. {smile}

I am a born-again disciple of Jesus; a genuine gentile Christian who loves the Jewish people and the Jewish Messiah. I believe wholeheartedly in my personal convictions and my blogs reflect that. While I love to share my faith and pray that all who read here would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved, I do not force my beliefs onto others, nor do I judge, condemn, or malign any person or group that believes differently than I do (or for any other reason). As stated way up at the beginning of this disclaimer, I believe in kindness.

Blog posts published prior to November 20, 2017 reflect the plant-based vegan lifestyle I was practicing at that time. I had a six month hiatus from it and then resumed the plant-based vegan lifestyle in May 2018 until August 1, 2018 when my vegan story came to its final end. I have great respect for the lifestyle, but I am no longer vegan.

When I began my journey of conquering my eating disorder, my dear hubby encouraged me to develop a body positive mindset. For me, being body positive means that I am choosing to accept myself just as I am today and each day, while striving to become all that God created me to be. I am not a feminist nor am I part of the well-known "body positive" movement.

All blog content is for informational and entertainment purposes only. If my blog offends you, upsets you, or triggers you in some way then please do not read it. It is my intention to "do no harm." I do not participate in drama nor do I wish to stir up strife... I want all who read here to feel peace and kindness and encouragement.

My blog posts are my personal online journals and accurately reflect snippets of my life at the time of writing them. Things can and do change over time, often greatly. Past posts may or may not reflect my current ways and opinions. Blog content may be changed, edited, updated, or deleted without notice. I do not guarantee availability of this site and it may be made private, removed, discontinued, or deleted at any time and without notice. Any of these policies may be updated at any time and without notice. (most recent update: 10/22/2018)

If you read my blog you must agree to these terms. And thanks for reading... I hope you enjoy it!
~ Julie
