Happy Gentle Homestead is a personal blog written, designed, and edited by me: Julie Cazier. I blog for fun and to encourage like-minded women. I am not an expert or professional of any kind, I am simply sharing my personal thoughts, opinions, and experiences as a wife, mama, homemaker, and homesteader.

I always do my best to publish reliable content, but I am quite imperfect and make no guarantee as to the accuracy or usefulness of my blog. What works for us on our homestead may or may not work for you. My thoughts are presented "as is" and with no warranty. Please do your own research, consult appropriate experts and/or professionals, and use appropriate supervision and/or safety measures if you choose to apply anything found on my blog to your own situation.

My cameras are a Nikon Coolpix L810 and the simple camera on my phone. I use PicMonkey to edit and add text to my images, and to create my blog's graphics. The verses on my word pictures are from the World English Bible, which is in the Public Domain. The name "World English Bible" is trademarked.

My recipes are my own creations and adaptations (or are tweaked versions of common recipes) and adhere to our personal food preferences and my own family's needs. They are tested in my kitchen and written accordingly. I apologize if there are errors or omissions, but I disclaim responsibility for your results.

We do not have any food allergies or sensitivities. Please adjust my recipes as necessary for your unique situation.

Cooking and food preparation are potentially dangerous activities, always be careful. You are responsible for taking all safety precautions necessary and I disclaim all liability for any adverse reactions, effects, damages, or causes from the use of my recipes. I do not include nutrition information or exact serving sizes as those things are quite variable, I think.

Crafting and Tutorials:
Knitting needles, crochet hooks, sewing machines, scissors, essential oils, cleaning supplies, etcetera... are potentially dangerous. Please use common sense and appropriate safety measures when using my crafting and other tutorials as I am not responsible for any harm or damages from the use of my blog tutorials.

I am not a doctor, medical professional, personal trainer, nutritionist, or fitness expert. I choose to personally live an active and body positive lifestyle and I enjoy sharing bits of that journey as an encouragement only. My success, opinions, goals, and methods are not to be taken as medical or nutritional advice - simply as information and entertainment.

I am confident in my ability to perform the fitness challenges, achieve the mileage goals, and practice the yoga asanas, etcetera, mentioned and featured on this blog. I share these things for entertainment, information, and encouragement only, and I do not wish to set a standard or goals for anyone else. My blogs do not have comments. I do not have time to moderate them and while I agree that comments can add a wonderful dimension to a site, I prefer to simply present my thoughts to you quietly... without having to consider receiving praise that may puff up or criticism that may tear down, or links to sites I am not familiar with.

I do not host giveaways, accept items for review, write sponsored posts, include advertising, or accept any other type of compensation for my content. I do not include guest posts here, nor do I have the time or interest to guest post elsewhere... my own three blogs keep me busy enough. {smile}

I am a born-again disciple of Jesus, among other things. I believe wholeheartedly in my personal convictions and my blogs reflect that. I do not force my beliefs onto others, nor do I judge, condemn, or malign any person or group that believes differently than I do (or for any other reason). As stated way up at the beginning of this disclaimer, I believe in kindness.

Blog posts published prior to November 20, 2017 reflect the plant-based vegan lifestyle I was practicing at that time. I had a six month hiatus from it and then resumed the plant-based vegan lifestyle in May 2018 until August 1, 2018 when my vegan story came to its final end. I have great respect for the lifestyle, but I am no longer vegan.

When I began my journey of conquering my eating disorder, my dear hubby encouraged me to develop a body positive mindset. For me, being body positive means that I am choosing to accept myself just as I am today and each day, while striving to become all that God created me to be. I am not a part of the well-known "body positive" movement.
