A Grateful Heart

Happy Friday to you, friends. This morning began so sweetly for me... it was raining when we opened our window blinds, and there was a finch sitting on the deck railing. She was taking shelter from the rain under the roof and as she perched there she occasionally whistled the happiest song. It was such a joyful accompaniment as I made my dear hubby's breakfast and settled down into my chair near the window with a cup of coffee and my Bible for my quiet time.

It is indeed a happy day at our place... our just-graduated daughter had her driving test today and she just phoned home to give me the good news! All of those hours of driver's education with her dad and the many practice miles they logged together have ended with her successfully passing the test on her first attempt. Proud of our girl we are!

Here are a few more things from my ongoing gratitude list this week ~

:: Seeing an osprey. We spotted this beautiful osprey near the Yellowstone River as we drove through our local park last weekend. It was atop a post off in the distance (hence the somewhat blurry photo) but we still enjoyed seeing such a magnificent bird of prey.

:: Matilda and Jack. My two bestest animal friends. I 💗love them both so much.

:: A new basketball hoop. We decided to get a brand new hoop for our ongoing barnyard basketball fun. The kids approve of this decision! {smile}

:: Our summer schedule. I begin the day an hour earlier in the summertime as my dear hubby's schedule changes. I really like it... I was a "night owl" way-back-when, but these days I tend to adhere to an "early to bed, early to rise" preference.

:: A new "toy" for mama. Finally, I purchased an instant pressure cooker! I have been wanting one for awhile and this week I decided on a 10 quart size which is *perfect* for our large family. I have used it a few times and while I have lots to learn about it I do really like it already.

It is still raining at our place this afternoon but I do see snippets of blue sky peeking through the clouds. A lovely first day of June indeed... I wish you a beautiful day where you are.
