Crafting Along

Good day to you, friends. I thought it would be fun to share with you the progress I have made on my current craft projects.

I have a knitting project and a counted cross-stitch sampler underway at the moment. Neither project is very complicated, but both are moving along rather slowly due to my schedule and other interests and mainly because I am a rather s-l-o-w crafter as a habit of life. {smile}

But I love working on them when I get the chance! Here is how they are coming along.

If you use your imagination, perhaps you can see a poppy taking shape in this sampler? It was fun to add a few stitches of green before I moved my hoop... and this project is a joy because it uses my favorite colors in abundance.

It is lovely to stitch a bit in the sunlight of the afternoon. Often, a few of my children work nearby on their own crafting endeavors which makes those moments extra special.

And this is a good start on my daughter's graduation shawl that I am knitting for her. She will likely graduate from our homeschool before the shawl is finished... we have but a month or so left of this school year.

And I'm reading...

I finished Grow in Grace by Sinclair B. Ferguson and was very encouraged by it. I learned a lot about Jesus as a person - that Jesus is fully God *and* fully man is something I believe, and this book really helped me understand that better. It astounds me how much Jesus loves us!

I want to read the book again, I know I can glean more insight from it.

A recent sermon I listened to online was talking about God's love for believers... and that there is no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). Oh my, what a truth! The pastor pointed out that we are often condemned by other people, the world, Satan, our own selves... but not by God if we belong to Jesus.

That thought fills my heart with so much joy and gratitude that I may very well never have another bad day.

In my Bible, I just finished Genesis chapter 45. I have been meditating on the story of Joseph and his brothers and God's perfect plan and goodness and timing all week.

Those are the recent crafting and reading happenings around here, friends. I wish you a lovely day!
