A Grateful Heart

Happy Friday to you, friends. It has been quite wintry and wet at our place all week... we got *so* *much* *snow* and wind {have a peek at what I mean here} and then it got kind of damp and slushy and slippery and muddy. Still windy. Still cold.

So I have been spending more time inside than out, cozy next to the wood stove!

The other day, I wanted to play a game of indoor fetch with Jack but couldn't find his bouncy ball anywhere. I asked one of my boys to help me search for the missing ball... and in so doing, he found both the ball *and* his special pocket knife that he was sure he had lost outside.

Somehow, it had fallen out of his pocket and slipped into the deep inner workings of one of our chairs!

Recently, our son had planned to buy a replacement for the pocket knife he thought he had lost, but the store was out of the one he wanted. And then, the one that had gone missing showed up. {smile}

What a surprise! What a blessing! My boy was thrilled and thankful, and so was I!

Here are a few more things from my ongoing gratitude list this week ~

:: headbands and wraps ::
:: My headband collection. I love wearing them, and it made me happy to see them scattered across the table as I folded them after washing them all the other day. It does my heart good to wear them... to honor that conviction and be myself.

Did you see the ones I sewed from a couple of shirts I wasn't keeping? I have been wearing those quite often, lately... my show-and-tell is {here}.

:: Rest. A few of us have been feeling a little under-the-weather this week, so it has been delightful to slow the pace and simply rest a bit.

:: My photography blog. I am really enjoying getting back into simple photography again... there is so much beauty in the world to notice. And I decided to take up lots of space in that space and post my images at their full size. It is quite a confidence stretching exercise for me, and that is a good thing. I think.

:: An unexpected (lovely!) reaction. The sweet person that I sent this shawl to was so surprised and happy with it. Oh, how glad I am that the Lord prompted me to send it off! It has paved the way for a closer relationship and friendship with someone I care about and have been praying for. {smile}

Our adult son that lives far away called me this week... we were discussing, among other things, how quickly time zooms by. It surely does! All the more reason that I try to abide in the moment at hand, and to give thanks in all circumstances.

There are so many marvelous ordinary moments (like this one that I shared on Run Hoop Julie) to notice and celebrate!

Thank you so much for coming by my blog this week. 🌼🌼🌼

I wish you a wonderful day ~
