Nine Plus Juno

What a wonderful transition it was, from September to October at our place. I had been anticipating the weekend for quite some time because I knew our grown daughter would be home to stay for a few days... and that she would be bringing her dog, Juno, of course.

Our time together began with a lovely and sunshine-y afternoon, so we decided to spend it at the creek. We enjoyed the short walk together to our lower pasture where our stretch of creek resides. The leaves were glorious with their end-of-September colors on display.

Only a few inches deep now, the creek is perfect for exploring...

And that is just what the younger children did. One of our boys donned his waders, so he could sit down in the water (ha!) and the rest of our tribe immersed themselves in the moment at hand. Our youngest explored the creek bank...

The two younger girls played in the trees along water's edge, floating leaves in the water and looking for treasures along the way.

The older girls snapped some photos (and did a fair amount of giggling)...

Another of our boys practiced target shooting with his handcrafted slingshot. Such a sharpshooter, he is!

While Juno kept an eye on us all...

Almost all of us together in one place. Nine of our family of ten... plus Juno... spending a wonderful snippet of time together at our creek during my favorite time of the year. Oh my. I do feel incredibly blessed.

And into October we go!
